A Card For A 100th Birthday!

How many times do we make cards for people who reach
one hundred years of age!  MIL's sister will reach that age
this month - she is the only survivor from a large family, and
thank G-d I hear she is doing well.  (She's in the US). I
think I played it safe by using flowers on my card.

Challenge at Pink Gem Designs

The challenge this week is Buttons, Bows, Bling & Butterflies
all of which I like to use. This challenge will run from 23 June until
6th July.  Worth going to the blog just to see the DT creations -
each one is lovely.
It was difficult photographing the card because of the appertage on
the front of it.  The antenna of the butterfly are made from wire.

Today is my first official day as a member of a Design Team
at http://doodlegardendigis.blogspot.com/

The DT have all made lovely cards using Jennifer Nilsson's
cute designs - worth taking a look.  Here is my first card
as a DT member and I must say that I am excited as it is my
first time on a DT.

A Picture for Yehela's Room - + Tutorial

First of all some news - I am now on the DT of Doodle Garden -
and I am very excited about this, as it is the first DT I have been
on - although I have designed before.  The owner of Doogle Garden
is Jennifer Nilsson and her digis are very cute - worth taking a look
at her blog.  The DT officially start on July 1.

Now for my picture.  I wanted all my figures to have wings, and I
found a 'fairyhouse' to suit the picture. Tutorial of how I
made the picture follows, so continue reading.  I still need to take
the picture to be framed.  It's a pity I couldn't capture all the
glitter on the flowers.  (Think I need a course in photography).
I used hardboard 28cm x 21.5cm.

The white scrapbook paper is stuck to the hardboard,
then the patterned paper is cut slightly smaller than the
white paper and stuck on top

The images are coloured (using a computer), cut out and
ready to stick to the background.  Parts of each image were
also cut out in order to do a little paper piecing

The 'fairyhouse' is coloured and printed onto vellum

The vellum is attached to the patterned paper using glue dots

Starting to add images and embellishments until picture is finished.

Hope you like this tutorial.

Card For Milk Coffee Embossing Challenge

I wanted to do a card for a 'young person' and therefore used
this delightful image.  I have just hours to add it to the
challenge but I'm having trouble because my internet keeps
going off - so I'd better get down to it now!

A Wedding Card

I am getting adventurous - I made a card a different shape to
what I usually make!   My sis gave me a few oblong cards, so I
might as well make use of them.  I was thinking of this shape anyway
and had already bought envelopes to use.  On second thoughts
I did make a gate fold card recently, which was easy to do - as a
rule I don't look for difficult!
