Shira is 8 - Scrapbook Page

Had a nice weekend at a folk music festival held in
Zichron Yaacov - heard some great musicians there.
More music tonight as one of the Tel Aviv musicians
has a birthday, and he has invited many of his musical
friends along to join in the fun at our folk club, which
is held twice a month.

As I have written before, when one of my grandchildren
has a birthday I like to make a Scrapbook page for
them - and a card, of course!  I don't need to tell you
that Shira likes fairies.

A "Hello" Card

Here is one of my latest cards, and as you may notice,
is a little different from my usual style.  I am trying to
make 'simple' cards apart from the more fancy
ones which I usually do - I like real fancy but haven't
reached that stage yet.  Also, what is fancy to me,
could mean something quite different to you.

Card Stock - Core'dinations
Green Mat - Core'dinations - Vintage Collection
Embossing Folder - M-Bossabilities - Bouquet of Flowers
                                                          & Garden Delight **
Hemp Cord - Michael's
Flower - Spellbinders - Carnation Creations
Sentiment - Studio g
Brad - Candy Brads
Bunting - bits & pieces in my stash
Distressing - Tim Holtz Distresssing Tool

** This embossing folder would not go through my Cuttlebug
with the usual A,B, embossing folder,B sandwich, so
I made my sandwich A, embossing folder, B + shams
     and it worked just fine.

Flowers From Soda Cans

A short tutorial explaining how to make pretty tin flowers.

Cut off the top and bottom parts of a soda can using
a craft knife and/or scissors.

Cut out the flower using your Cuttlebug or other cutting
machine.  (I used  Spellbinders Carnation Creations dies).
Go back and forth a few times to be sure of a good cut.
(I used one sham with my A,C,B plates sandwich).

Embossing comes next, if you so wish.

Put the flowers together with brads..

Note: flowers can be inked or you can use patterned
paper, cardstock or materials to use together with the
metal flower die cuts.

A Valentine Card

Here is a Valentine's card made using a few
hearts.  I used my Cuttlebug to cut them out.
Don't forget there are Valentine papers here
on the blog for you to copy and paste.  Friday I
have a new DT Valentine card to add here and
on it I have used three of my papers for hearts.
If anyone can give me feedback on the papers I
would be grateful
