Card for Teenage Girl

Well, I need to replenish my stock, so have been busy making
cards during the last few days.  The image I have used  is
one of many I have collected from here - great for the
older boy/girl.  The flowers were on sale and came as a bunch.
I just cut a few off the stem and tried to flatten them out a bit.
The current challenge at SSD is Celebrations, so I'll enter this card
there.

A child's Card

Sometimes it is nice to use images that are already
coloured.  The image on my card comes from a set
of animals, and each one makes a beautiful card,
which is also quick and easy to make.

Tomorrow I shall publish a card I made as a DT
member for the new challenge at Pattie's Creations.
Soon Pattie will have a big sale of her digi images, so
watch this space.

After not having internet for a few days, then no computer,
then not getting my printer to print (I just needed to sort
out the ports), I am glad to get back to my blog.  Here
is a baby girl card, which I made using stick-ons, which
I don't use too often.  Also used my new Nestabilities.

Not looking forward to the long journey home but can't wait to
play with all my new crafting goods.  Mind you, where I shall put
everything is another matter!  But I do have plans for a niche,
which is behind the table where I do my crafting.  I just want a place
to put all the plastic boxes my paper, punches etc. are in, so that I
can have a nice tidy table when I need!

Here is my first post for the latest  challenge at Pattie's Creations. I
am one of the two new DT members and I am very happy to join this
great team. Challenges are bi-weekly. Do go and visit Pattie's page
and see what lovely digital stamps she makes.

Do visit the other new designer, Bettina, to see what beautiful cards she makes.

Just an update.  Nothing put up recently because I am in the States.
Was staying in Boston and had planned to go for a couple of days
to Philadelphia, but along came Hurricane Sandy and we headed
right back to MD to family, even though it took us nearly 10 hours,
with a couple of stops on the way, We also drove through heavy
rain for a while.  Luckily we weren't affected but wish those that
were all the best.

I have now joined the DT of Pattie's Creations and will soon put
up the card I made for the new team's first challenge.

Michael's had a crop from 2pm-8pm that I went to and  had a
good time there. Afterwards the four of us in the class, including
the instructeress went out to eat together. Of course I did some
shopping at Michael's and ordered a few things over the internet,
and so was able to make a card here.

Scrapbooking Again - Mum's Family

Actually got another SB page done for my family album - this time
I used a photograph of my mother with her parents and 8 siblings!
I just don't have photos of my mother as a child, so I am happy that
a cousin had this to give to me.  I never met my grandparents on
mum's side but I did meet some of her siblings, and now am in
touch with their children and grandchildren. My mother is the
one standing in front of her elder brother.

An Autumn Card

This card uses Autumn colours and gave me a chance to do a
slightly different style to my usual one.  The white part of the
two flowers I cut out whilst at a crop, so I can't say where
the punch is from.  I like the size of it, and, of course, it is
possible to colour them any colour you want.  I left them
white because otherwise the card might have been too dark
and I think they brighten the card up.

Time For Another Card

Should be out doing some exercises but am a bit under the weather
so I thought it a good time to add a couple of cards.  I love to use
Core'dinations cardstock because I can, emboss, sand etc. and I
do this often.  I have ordered more Core'dinations pads, and can't
wait to receive them.  I use the A4 size for making cards and the
smaller pads for using as mats or to cut out using Nestabilities etc.
I embossed directly onto the cardstock and then sanded the
embossing.

A Scrapbook Page Of My Parents

Here is another scrapbook page, which I designed
whilst at a crop at Paper Hearts in Ramat Hasharon, which I
believe is held once a month.  The green patterned paper
was cut out on a Big Shot machine (even if I had one, I'd
have nowhere to keep it!)

A Scrapbook Page - Hila is 2

Haven't been very active here recently - had a lot of cards
to make and also was working on Hila's scrapbook page.
Went to another 'crop' and really enjoyed it. Nice group of
women, who all are willing to help each other and who make
most beautiful pages.  I prepared a page using a photo of my
parents' wedding photo and an invitation to their reception held
in 1943.  At the studio where the crop is held they have a
Big Shot and Cuttlebug and lots of dies and punches, so I
prepared a few cut outs to use at home.  On the Big Shot  I was
able to cut out a large label to use on my page. I hope to finish
the page soon.

I Found A 'Crop' To Go To

My first 'crop' in Israel.  I have found it difficult to find a
place, which is not too far away, for sitting with other
crafters to do scrapbooking/cardmaking.  This week I
went to a shop/studio in Ramat Hasharon called "Paper
Hearts" and joined 6 other crafters.  Sarit and Nirit run
the shop and Nirit helps the crafters at the 'crop'. They
have a few machines, including the Cuttlebug, and a
large choice of dies to use for each machine.  There
are also lots of other tools, such as punches to use.
I went, not so much as to learn something, but to be
with others who love to craft.  Nirit was open to any
questions and had lots of patience.  Hopefully I will
go again.  The shop is full of great things!
I prepared some cards to do and here are the ones
that I managed to finish.

Ori is 4 - Scrapbook Page

I've been working on this scrapbook page for a few days now
- I don't have a lot of experience on scrapbooking, but I think
of each page like a large card and try not to put too much on it!

I love my Core'dinations cardstock and enjoy embossing,
sanding and distressing the card and embellishments.  I have
used a few embossing folders, as you can see.  Can I say again
- I love my Cuttlebug.

Happy 4th Birthday Ori

When grandkids birthdays come along you realise how time flies!
Ori's card was supposed to have a knight on a horse on it, and
although I prepared such a card, just hadn't stuck everything down,
I decided it was too 'old' for him, even though I'd spent a lot of time
looking for a suitable clipart picture.  I had recently downloaded a
digi of a little boy with balloons, and that I thought was more
appropriate - so here is the card.

DT Creation for The Doodle Garden

My latest DT card - the theme is "SUMMER."   Isn't it a cute
image!  It took me a while to make as I couldn't decide how
to do the background, but I am happy with the result!  Mind
you, it took a bit of doing to stick down the ribbon. If the
ribbon had been thicker, it wouldn't have been a problem.
I do have various glues, but if anybody can tell me what
works for them on flimsy ribbon, I would like to know.

CAS Challenge - Favorite Sweet Treats!

This week's Challenge on the CAS group on Outlawz is to
make a card featuring one of your favorite sweet treats!

One of my daughters' always leaves ice-cream in my
fridge and I never touch it - until now!  Perhaps because
of the very hot weather we are having.  So deciding on a
favourite sweet treat was easy.  Luckily I had this very
cute digi stamp to use.

I've Joined The Outlawz - My First Challenge There

I didn't actually mean to join but I wanted to see what it was
all about!  Anyway, I am going to see if I have time to be
active there - having a blog, being on a great DT team and
taking part in challenges and being active on a couple of
web sites is very time consuming.  But it is so hot here now
(in Israel), I don't think I will be doing too much walking around
during the day.

I joined a CAS (clean & simple) group and here is my card - I
like to add bows and pearls etc. but I had to remind myself that
the card had to be simple.

How many times do we make cards for people who reach
one hundred years of age!  MIL's sister will reach that age

A Picture for Yehela's Room - + Tutorial

First of all some news - I am now on the DT of Doodle Garden -
and I am very excited about this, as it is the first DT I have been
on - although I have designed before.  The owner of Doogle Garden
is Jennifer Nilsson and her digis are very cute - worth taking a look
at her blog.  The DT officially start on July 1.

Now for my picture.  I wanted all my figures to have wings, and I
found a 'fairyhouse' to suit the picture. Tutorial of how I
made the picture follows, so continue reading.  I still need to take
the picture to be framed.  It's a pity I couldn't capture all the
glitter on the flowers.  (Think I need a course in photography).
I used hardboard 28cm x 21.5cm.

The images are coloured (using a computer), cut out and
ready to stick to the background.  Parts of each image were
also cut out in order to do a little paper piecing

Starting to add images and embellishments until picture is finished.

Hope you like this tutorial.
